Week 11 - “Bundled Up” Photo Challenge

This week's theme at http://www.iheartfaces.com/ is "All Bundled Up".

This photo means the world to me because it was taken this year of my son Jacob who just this year learned to ski. He is fortunate enough to have an uncle who was able to teach him. My son is so good in fact that just last night during family dinner his Uncle Jack asked us to put a budget together so that next year we could get him on a ski team. Jack says that he is so amazing that he thinks he could go to the Olympics if given the opportunity....

Now the other story to this is Jack has been letting him watch extreme skiing videos on youtube.... YIKES! My son is fascinated... while mom is.... well... scared to death! My son wants to jump out of a helicopter onto a mountain that is seriously a cliff and ski down it....

But back to reality here... my son is so good that he is going down "Black Diamond Hills" which here at Bogus Basin are the most advanced and difficult hills. He ski's backwards down the hills, he started recently going off some of the jumps. I guess Jack took him to the area where snowboarders do all their cool tricks, and Jake watched a few times, got up and did the things they were doing....

To say he is amazing is no exaggeration. Considering he has had no formal training and just learned this year to ski plus he is only 6 years old is absolutely amazing. He loves it.... it makes him happy and I couldn't be more proud of my little man. So maybe this isn't a winning photo... but he is a winner to me! He truly is a gifted boy and I am so proud to call him my son! I love you Jakey!

P.S.
Dear Lord
Please take this idea of extreme skiing out of my son's head... and keep him safe.... his mommy wants grandchildren some day.

Amen
